  • What is the Artist Portfolio?
    The Artists Portfolio is a digital platform with free access to the public whose objective is to be a directory of musical artists, in such a way that the population has a simple and free means of connecting with the different artistic projects in the field of music. music that is in the city of Morelia.
  • What artists can appear in the Portfolio?
    All artists who work in any discipline or musical project, regardless of gender, are subject to appearing in the Artists Portfolio.
  • I am a musical artist and I want to appear in the Portfolio. How do I do it?
    In the "Portfolios" section you will find a button with the legend "Register your project". Click on it to fill out a Google form with the necessary information to register your project in the Artists Portfolio.
  • What do I need to register in the Artist Portfolio?
    To register in the artist portfolio, you must answer the Google form linked to the "register your project" button, which will ask you for general information about your project such as your name, members name, contact information and a brief description of the project. In turn, it is necessary that you have multimedia material (at least 5 photographs and a video) with the best possible quality.
  • ¿Cuánto tiempo tarda en publicarse mi proyecto en el Portafolio de Artistas de Morelia?
    Una vez que hayas concluido exitosamente tu registro, tu proyecto tardará hasta un máximo de dos días hábiles en ser publicado en el Portafolio. Para cualquier duda, comentario o aclaración al respecto, puedes comunicarte directamente a cualquiera de los medios de Contacto de la Secretaría de Cultura.
  • Does it cost anything to appear in the Artists Portfolio?
    Appearing in the Artists Portfolio is completely free, registration via Google form is only required at no cost, which you can do in the portfolio section.
  • How is the Artist Portfolio organized?
    The artist portfolio is divided into two general groups: soloists and groups. In both there are artists from all genres and musical disciplines in no specific order. In the same way, you can find an index of artists that orders all registered artists in alphabetical order, without distinction of other criteria.
  • How can I consult the index of artists?
    When you place the cursor over the "Portfolio" option in the top menu, a submenu will be displayed with the "Artists Index" option. This will take you to a page with a simplified list containing the names of the artists arranged alphabetically and a link that you can click to go to their individual section on the Portfolio. We suggest you to use the "search" tool or its equivalent in your browser to find the artist that you are looking for more easily. Note: in the mobile version, only the name of the artist and their link to the portfolio will appear in the index.
  • Where can I get more information about artists, events and Morelia Creative City of Music?
    You can complete the form in the "Contact" section and you will receive the information you request via email as soon as possible. You can also request information, resolution of doubts and comments by contacting the Ministry of Culture or directly by going to our offices.
  • ¿Qué es el Programa de Coros y Orquestas Infantiles?
    Es un programa creado por el gobierno local, a través de la Secretaría de Cultura, que tiene por finalidad implementar la esneñanza musical como un medio para llevar la cultura de paz y atender las denuncias de violencia intrafamiliar, intentos de suicidio, acoso y abuso sexual reportados a la policía municipal. Para llevarlo a cabo, se obtuvo un donativo de 45 instrumentos de la Asociación Concertando México, iniciando así las clases de coro, solfeo y orquesta.
  • ¿Dónde se lleva a cabo el programa?
    Actualmente, el programa se encuentra implementado en cinco Centros de Desarrollo Comunitario, escogidos estratégicamente para poder atender las denuncias. Estos son: ​ • Colinas del Sur. • Gertrudis Sánchez. • Ciudad Jardín. • Villas del Pedregal. • La Aldea.
  • ¿Qué beneficios ha generado el programa?
    La implementación del programa ha generado herramientas terapéuticas, de comunicación y esparcimiento sano como parte de la estrategia de la cultura de paz a través de la música, para las y los 150 niños y adolescentes de entre 5 a 18 años de edad que integran este proyecto, recibiendo a la semana un total de seis horas de clases de coro y dos horas de clase de violín, ambas de manera gratuita.

  • Why is Morelia a Creative City of Music?
    Morelia received by the UNESCO the designation of Creative City in 2017 because it is home to a thriving music and cultural scene. With many music festivals throughout the year, it is a city full of tangible and creative heritage offering a wide range of genres ranging from ancient, colonial, classical, folk and traditional music to electronic music with the latest technologies.
  • Why is it important that Morelia is a Creative City of Music?
    In the world, only 40 cities have been designated twice by the UNESCO and Mexico has four of them, with Morelia being the only one in the creative field of music. Morelia joined the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, which promotes cooperation between cities that have identified creativity as a strategic factor for sustainable urban development. Currently, the network is made up of 295 cities that work together to place creativity and cultural industries at the center of their development plans at the local level and to cooperate at an international level.
  • What is the Mexican Network of UNESCO Creative Cities?
    It is the integration into a network of Creative Cities in Mexico that have this designation by the UNESCO in their respective areas. It is made up of Mexico City, Mérida, Morelia, Puebla, Guadalajara, Ensenada, Querétaro, San Cristobal de las Casas and recently Xalapa. Its objective is to deepen public policies and carry out sustainable urban development projects, through networks and professional exchanges, that directly affect the well-being of each of its populations, positioning Mexico as a country that recognizes culture and creativity as a strategic factor for sustainable development.
